 I've got two food related things to share with you today (oh what a surprise!)

The first is, of course, a hunger-inducing photo of some Sunday dolce. It's typical to buy some tasty cakes for dessert on a Sunday lunchtime. So, in keeping with this local tradition (yes, sometimes it's so hard fitting in with the locals..!), I obliged and bought a selection of little cakes for me and the girls. A Sunday lunch of pasta with tomatoes and pancetta, followed by these:

Secondly, when I came back here after spending some time in the UK over summer, I brought some Marks & Spencer biscuits and cadburys chocolate buttons with me. Unfortunately for the buttons, the (very) hot weather changed their form somewhat. Into, well, this:

 But, as my nan says, it's still chocolate. It doesn't matter what shape it's in, it's still yummy. (Even if it has literally become a chocolate mass...mmm. That sounds even better than individual pieces...)

Mini blog: Italian mums are super.

I know I know, I've interrupted the Sicily Chronicles (I'm starting to like that title a bit too much), but this I just had to share.

Today I've been feeling a bit headachy and under the weather. I was meant to go to my boyfriend's parents' house for lunch, but I didn't quite feel up to it. So instead, I put on some comfy jogging bottoms and decided I would mooch about at home instead, hoping that with an afternoon nap my horrible headache would pass.

But instead, the boyfriend decided it would be better to bring some of his mum's home cooking to me. He called round with some amazing food, courtesy of his wonderful mum.

These are melanzane ripiene- stuffed aubergines. And my word, were they good. The potatoes were also amazing- cooked with salt, oil and garlic. I was also sent some fresh mozzerella and a tasty banana. Can't forget the fruit!

Now if that doesn't make me feel better, I don't know what will.

Oh yes, it's another...

I came across a couple of things that I wanted to share with you.

The first, is this 'oh so true' message that I nabbed from ForExpatsByExpats:

Being in Italy definitely makes me see things in a new and different way. Often a good way, occasionally bad, but always new and interesting.

I also came across this 'travelholic' and his fantastic website The Road to Anywhere. He's recently posted a load of fantastic photos from around Italy. Make sure you have a look! They really are incredible.

And finally, very soon I'm heading to Sicily...SO.INCREDIBLY.EXCITED!! I've always wanted to visit and so I can't wait to spend some time there. I want to explore, enjoy the sunshine, discover the culture and of course, eat lots of these:

Just a couple of things to mention. Firstly, I have been featured on this fantastic expat website:

Secondly, you may have noticed the little extra bar at the top of my blog with silly things like 'about me' and 'find me online' on them. Well, they are new. So click on them! :D I have been experimenting with blogger features (oo-er) and creating 'stand alone pages'. (Seriously, I don't have a clue what I'm talking about). Anyway, have a look! Anything else you think I should (attempt to) add? Let me know!

And finally, I've been busy putting together a couple of yummy food-related posts. So watch out for those.
